Texas Pools & Patios owner Andy Crites and his sons have built thousands of pools, many of which have won national and international awards for design, engineering and technical achievement. Andy, formerly an Austin home builder and remodeling contractor, has a background in engineering, landscape and pool design, and 30 years of experience working with the Hill Country's natural beauty and terrain to build visually aesthetic, top quality pools.

Andy and sons pride themselves on extraordinary design and creative use of materials including red tiles, brick or limestone borders, dolphin fountains with water streaming from their mouths or mermaids arching over a bubbling spa. Many resemble natural swimming holes, with asymmetrical shapes with rock borders and waterfalls. One unique swimming pool, built on a hillside with a 200 foot drop with a vanishing edge which makes the water seem as if it is cascading down a cliff into the valley beyond, won the prestigious NSPI Gold Medal award for Engineering and Technical Achievement.

But even the simplest project is designed and created to be a showpiece. For Andy, a founder and former president of the Austin Chapter of the National Spa and Pool Institute and the Austin Association of Remodeling Contractors, nothing less will do.

Texas Pools & Patios is one of the first builders in Texas to be recognized by the National Spa and Pool Institute as a certified builder. It is a full service business with in-house crews for plumbing and pool service, and also provides automated cleaning controls and water purification systems that use reduced amounts of chlorine.

The Texas Pools and Patios showroom, located at 915 RR-620 South, Lakeway, Texas, is open Monday-Friday from 9 to 6, and Saturdays 9-4.
